9 weeks to go!

Ok, so with Aaron's birthday and graduation fun, and the HEAT warping my brain, I forgot to post 7 month pictures. So how about 7 1/2 month pictures? Otherwise known in baby terms as 30 week photos!! I'm still not used to saying how far along I am in "weeks". I lose track that way. When someone tells me their child is 22 months, I think to myself, "Why not just say he/she is almost 2"? Who knows, maybe I will be the same but I doubt it. Anyhoo, here's an update in case anyone is interested in preggie happenings.........

I have stopped working for the most part. Aaron has taken over 99% of my clients. Especially in the recent heat...FORGET IT, there's no way I could be out there! I have been such a good girl and have been keeping my feet up and fluids going in non-stop. As soon as I start to backslide, my body lets me know right away! I start to look like the Stay-Puffed Marshmallow man from "Ghostbusters" and the baby stops having his or her little non-stop kicking party. I told Aaron that our next baby we are planning so I am NOT pregnant during the summer months. I love catching up on my reading and spending time with my dogs and such but there are so many things I would like to get to OUTSIDE that I can't and it's truly frustrating! I really miss my morning walks with Carrie too. (What's up C!)

It's funny to see Aaron come in the door after a few clients and complain about the heat and be cranky. Part of me thinks, "Ha, welcome to the last few summers of my life buddy and I had way more clients!" But then my evil thoughts go away and I'm grateful that he is able to help so we can keep some extra income coming in as well as FedEx until things get into a groove after baby arrives. Everything is so up in the air right now because we can't tell anyone when and where about anything until the little one is actually here and we know he/she is healthy. For someone like me who REALLY likes to know things in advance and is comforted by planning things and knowing what's coming its really stressful to not know some big things like where Aaron will end up working, will he be happy, wiil we make enough so I can stay home full-time....etc. I refuse to ever do day-care so trying to develop all of these other "what-ifs" in my head can be a bit much sometimes. That's when my favorite scripture automatically comes to my mind. Joshua 1:9 "Have I not command thee? Be strong and of good courage. Be not frightened, neither be thou dismayed. For the Lord, thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest" LOVE LOVE that scripture! Always sets me straight when I get a little nuts.

What else...let's see....oh doctors appointments are going fine. I got my Rhogam shot a couple of weeks ago & was a trooper! I am not a needle fan by any stretch of the imagination. Then again, who is really? Who dances into the doctor saying, "I hope I get a shot today or they take some blood! I love those needles!" If you are unfamiliar with the Rhogam shot(as I was) and why I would need it at 28 weeks here's a quick rundown....I have A- blood, Aaron is A+. Positive is dominant so that means the baby will have positive blood. My body might start to view baby and the opposing blood as and intruder and build antibodies against my little loved one and actually attack it around 28 weeks. So to prevent that, they give me that wonderful shot to prevent this from happening. I will get another shot immediately after baby is born. Because Aaron is a dominant positive type, any further super babies we have, I'll have to get more shots. GEE THANKS AARON!!! hee hee!

My fatigue has returned with a vengence. Heartburn has not left me for one day of this pregnancy. If it's true what they say about having frequent heartburn means your baby will have lots of hair, this kid is going to come out looking like Cousin It from "The Addams Family". Or a wookie, or a maguai (Gizmo), or a...ok I give up! I'm starting to get backaches more and my knees hurt too alot. What's funny is 2 weeks ago when I went to the doctor, I weighed in at_____pnds.....HA! Did you really think I would put that on my blog??? Silly monkey! Anyway, I weighed in and she said I was right on track, no worries. I've been gaining 4 pounds a month except for a freaky month when I gained 7. Fast forward two weeks to this past Friday and I weigh in again at the EXACT same weight! Difference is I tell her I have sore knees when I get up sometimes and my back is hurting and she says, "It's cuz you're gaining too much weight" HUH? I'm the same as I was 2 weeks ago and according to all the books I am nowhere near needing to worry about "too much weight". So I was confused about that but oh well!! Baby will grow however it needs to grow and I will just deal, I don't care. Rolling out of bed is getting quite interesting though...sometimes impossible, always comical! I feel like Randy in "A Christmas Story" who can't get up after falling in the snow cuz he's all bundled up! Just add a belly and that's me!

My biggest silly accomplishment this week was doing a French pedicure on myself. Yep, I can't see my toes, but I'll be darned if they are going to look bad for anyone else! It took me an hour and a half and I was exhausted afterwards but I DID IT! I think I have one more pedicure in me then it's time to admit defeat and save up for a trip to Hands-To-Hold. Well that's all for now folks! Stay tuned.....

Hang in there! I was the same way with heart burn and not being able to get up. I even had to sleep half the time in my recliner because I couldn't get comfortable! So I feel for ya sister!
By the way, I'm pretty sure we have a fedEx here in IF! There's land available next to the Wises and we live up the road for awesome playdates for your little one. :)

thanks for the thorough update! nice work on the french pedi. i noticed it at church yesterday and you did a real nice job for doing it blindly! and i totally feel the sore knees. although in my case i actually had gained a bunch of weight. it's kind of mysterious that your's are hurting when you aren't gaining much at all. hang in there! these next 10 weeks are going to fly by!

It's great that we do our toes and make sure our legs are shaved for the birth of our baby so our feet look cute... when the doc actually has to look... somewhere else!
